Late Slice: The pre-spring break vortex!

I can't believe how much I have to do tomorrow:  report cards, science inventory (at the last minute, thanks central office) coaching Girls on the Run, planning for after break, and packing for a trip across the country!  How can I do it all?

It seems like as soon as spring break looms before me everyone else pushes into urgency-mode.  This is not the healthy way to operate.  So how do I not get sucked into the vortex?

  • start the day off right (no more falling off the wagon with Girl Scout cookies)
  • don't get sucked into the stress of others
  • breathe
  • take time out when kids start making farting noises
  • Make the day fun for kids so they don't have time to complain
This is my plan!

Good luck with your busy day tomorrow! I can relate and I need to do the same: breathe :)
THanks for your comment today.

Great plan! (I'm shoving the Girl Scout cookies behind a pillow....) I love your question: How do I not get sucked into the vortex.

Ah, the vortex. I'm right there with you. I'm hanging onto two of your ideas - breathe & make the day fun. I just deep-sixed the vocab test I had scheduled for Friday. We'll do it after break. Several readers encouraged me to celebrate our month of slicing (my students have been doing it with me!) on Friday. Making the plan public makes it easier to do it!
